By Air

John Paul II International Airport  is in Balice, about 11km west of the city. Kraków has direct international flight connections with up to four dozen mostly European cities including Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Rome, Vienna and many more. 

There is a train from Kraków to the Balice Airport it takes 16 minutes. It is the fastest connection between the city centre and the airport.
The train station is situated about 200 m from the T1 international terminal.

By Train

Kraków Główny (Kraków Central) train station, on the northeastern of the Old Town, handles all international and most domestic trains. The only other station of any significance is Kraków Płaszów, 4km southeast of the city centre, which operates a few trains that don’t call at Kraków Główny. Local trains between the two stations run every 15 to 30 minutes.

Internationally, there are daily direct trains to Berlin, Bratislava, Bucharest, Budapest, Hamburg, Kyiv, Odesa, Prague and Vienna.

Public transport

Kraków is served by an efficient network of buses and trams that run between 5am and 11pm.
Tickets can be bought at street kiosks, and must be validated as soon as you board.

There are 13 licensed taxi companies in Kraków. To avoid overcharging, please make sure that you use only licensed taxis
