Specialist Society Membership

Specialty representation within the ESA

Specialist areas of anaesthesiology, critical care, emergency medicine and pain management are already represented in the ESA, in the form of sub-committees of the Scientific Programme Committee. Many of their members are also active ESA members, contributing to the educational, academic and scientific work of the ESA within their chosen specialist area.

In order to ensure that the Specialist Societies themselves are fully represented:

  • one representative member of the relevant Specialist Societies will become ex-officio member of the relevant Scientific Programme subcommittee
  • one representative member of the relevant Specialist Societies will be part of a committee representing the Specialist Societies in Anaesthesiology (created as of 5 societies)
