The June 2011 issue of 'Best practice and research – Clinical anaesthesiology' covers a wide spectrum of topics in the field of patient safety in anaesthesiology. Written by well known experts and groups from around the world, this issue deals with aspects like 'non-technical skills’, closed-claims analysis, knowledge transfer from so called high-reliability organizations, but also clinical topics like the practice of handover or drug-labelling as well as teaching aspects in anaesthesiology to only mention a few. In 16 chapters the current state-of-the-art of the most important topics of patient safety is condensed in one book.
With support of the ESA and the corresponding EBA/ESA patient safety task force, this book has been made available for all participants of the Euroanaesthesia congress 2011 in Amsterdam.
