Important Information
Budget
The total sum requested must not exceed the one or other of the sums offered. Funds may not be used for indirect costs (overheads) or for travel. New applicants should seek guidance from those experienced in experimental design and preparation of grant applications.
Conflict of interest
Conflict of interest, if present, must be clearly stated by the members of the Research Committee on appointment and by all grant applicants.
Deadline
The Grant application should include the curriculum vitae of the principal investigator and a letter of recommendation. It must be received no later than September 4 of the year before the year in which the grants are awarded. Late applications will not be accepted.
Duplications
To avoid duplicate submission, the applicants should state if their application (or a similar version of the application) has been submitted, elsewhere. If so, the applicant should name the organisation(s) and by which date a decision is expected from them. Such a concurrent submission does not preclude evaluation of the submission by the ESA Research Committee.
Re-applications
Re-applications from investigators that were funded in previous years will be accepted after the previous application as follows:
- 2 years delay for full grants 60.000 euros (2012 winners can only apply again in 2015)
- 1 year delay for pilot grant 15.000 euros (2012 winners can only apply again in 2014)
